Back to Nature programs Pancasari Village and Lake Buyan Go Mountain Trekking, Fishing, Canoeing in a traditional Balinese boat on beautiful Lake Buyan! Or, for the less adventurous, go Strawberry Picking or go on a Vegetable & Flower Farm Tour in Pancasari Village, or you could just simply sit back and relax in a traditional bamboo gazebo overlooking Lake Buyan while watching a beautiful sunset. Bali Botanical Gardens (Kebun Raya Eka Karya), +62 368 21273. 8AM-6PM daily. One of Indonesia's four official botanical gardens. Located in Candikuning. The entrance road is identified by the presence of a giant stone corn on the cob statue! From the information centre buy a copy of an excellent little pamphlet called Six Self Guided Walks in the Bali Botanical Gardens and set off on your way. The gardens are huge covering some 160 hectares and any visitor with an interest in plants and trees could easily spend a whole day here. Also, an informative library and gift shop. Each run also features "Flying Fox" zip-lines of up to 160 metres, providing heart-pounding thrills to guests as they fly through the air. Lake Bratan, Bedugul. 7AM-5PM daily. After Tanah Lot, this is perhaps the most photographed temple on the island and is certainly one of the iconic images of Bali. The temple sits on the western shore of Lake Bratan and it can give the illusion of actually floating on the water. Built in 1633, the temple is devoted to Ida Batara Dewi Ulun Danu, goddess of the lake. A beautiful temple in a truly stunning setting. Approximately 10 mins drive from Bali Handara Water sports on Lake Bratan, Bratan Lake is located next to Mount Bratan and Mount Catur. It is the second largest lake in Bali. Filling the crater of the inactive volcano Mount Catur, Bratan Lake sits at over 1,200 meters above sea level. The resort area of Bedugul offers excellent views of the lake, as well as a number of water activities. Providing a cool retreat from the hot and humid regions of Bali, its shores provide the traveler with its cool waters offer parasailing, water-skiing, banana-boat rides and other water sports. Some Japanese caves across the lake were dug during World War II. While in the area hike to the beautiful shrines that dot the lakeshore and forested hills around the lake or visit the beautiful Pura Ulun Danu Bratan.Approximately 15 mins drive from Bali Handara
This is truly a scenic site, not to be missed if you visit Bali. Located on the left side of the main road to Singaraja from Denpasar, just as the road begins to head down the mountain to Singaraja, it is easily accessible. It takes quite a long walk past a myriad of sarong and handicraft stalls but is definitely worth the trip! Aside from the waterfall's majestic beauty, it beholds a visual revelation. Try looking into the cascades of water for a minute or so, then look at one of the rocks. May sound cryptic, but you will not be disappointed! Approximately 25 mins drive from Bali Handara
Munduk Waterfall Is one of the most fabulous waterfalls on the island that is located in the village of Munduk, north Bali. The path down to the waterfall is densely planted with clove and coffee trees as well as Avocado, Taro, Banana and Durian trees. Munduk lies at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level offering fresh cool mountain air. There are a few more waterfalls here to see and if you want to explore more of them, you can easily walk up the hillside from this waterfall and go down on the other side of the hilly village and walk down to another waterfall which is quite spectacular also. The walk will offer you fantastic views of the northern Bali coast line. Approximately 25 mins drive from Bali Handara Jatiluwih A startlingly beautiful area of terraced rice paddies nestled in the shadow of Mount Batukaru. Take your time and explore thoroughly. There are a number hikes thorough truly stunning terrain. When you have had your fill there are a couple of cafes for refreshment (and yet more views). In 2007 this was nominated as a UNESCO world heritage site. Rp 10,000 per person plus Rp 5,000 per car. (on the main Sangeh to Bedugul road turn west towards Babanan about 8 km before you reach Bedugul. Follow the Jatiluwih signs and you will reach the pay booth.).
